Windows 10 has been extremely stable and no more picky in running things than any other semi current Microsoft OS for a while now.

I’ve had far less problems with Windows 10 than I’ve had with 7 and 8 for sure, though I waited to upgrade after most of the initial bugs got worked out.

Overall it’s actually been great, up to a point. There was a time we could just toggle off Cortana, and an update made it extremely hard to get rid of (She’s always lurking in the background). Microsoft has made a few updates where they want to force you to use their stuff more again and make it harder to get rid of than it used to be.

Compared to 8 it’s absolutely wonderful. You could debate whether 7 was better or not. Others before that are just getting too old now though.

Anyway I got the same new OS update the OP just had and am not having issues (yet). Are you sure it is that specific OS update causing it and not something else that changed?

PCs themselves are picky overall. Maybe something else on your system didn’t like that update and is causing issues. Virus scanners often interact weird when stuff updates of course. Which scanner do you use? You should probably force that to update to it’s newest version if you haven’t already in case it needs to to run more smoothly with the new Windows 10 OS update.

Also just out of curiosity, is your Windows 10 version a straight new install or an upgrade from 7 or 8?

The same day that Windows update happened I got a virus scanner update too, and either the scanner update or a combination of the two suddenly caused my virus scanner to be *incredibly* paranoid and it barely lets anything run that I don’t put in exclusions.

That said virus scanners are the issue a huge percentage of the time even if it’s been running fine with it right along, an update can suddenly change things.

Please reply and let us know which scanner you’re using 😀 If you can shut it off (some of them don’t want to let you) you should try turning it off briefly and then see if the game starts too.

This is the most useful answer I’ve ever seen. I’m using NOD32 from my university’s server. It only updates when I am in my faculty. so weekend with new updates probably my antivrus system gone «paranoid» without its updates and blocked the some apps. somehow. I came to this idea because, after autoupdated antivir. from faculty it works perfectly normal. So probably like as you said mewmewgirl. and also thank you other fellas too for time and ideas.
